Surf Couture!
This is a true story here, no lie. I remember when I used to roleplay on the Kindly Sim (something I miss terribly btw) with my sister, Noelle Parisi. We were claiming to be twins and thus needed a wardrobe to match that. We were scouring the whole SL universe for something we can call our own and we ran into a little shop called Surf Couture. I’ve never heard of the shop before, but it had the cutest summery things in it. After going “OMG!!! WE FOUND A STORE”, Noelle and I went nuts and probably dropped 5K in an hour buying everything. The best buy were the basic flats, something I still wear to this day. Everyone asked where we got the flats from and we’d either “crash”, pretend we didn’t understand english, or ignore that person. There was one girl in particular who used to whine and whine and WHINE but we never told her where we got the items for. That was until one of our friend said “Lolz~ just inspect them~~” Though I’m against anti shields, I would have loved to have one back then. Surf Couture was our special store and every day we’d pop over to see if there was something new.
Fast forward to Friday, I had an offline from Emma Gilmour who asked said she liked reading my blog and wondered if I wanted to blog her new releases. Um, seriously? I’ve never geeked out over a person so much than I have her because I love her stuff hardcore. I watched her store grow for two years now and the thought she read Shane and I’s blog and she liked it??? Yeah, I fan girled. And I’m fan girling right here. I can’t help it. Surf Couture has been my shit for years now and each release is better than the release before. I know I sound like a nerd/stalker but these are quality clothes here. How do I know these are quality clothes? Well Shane was wearing the Havana Dress for hours with long hair and heels. Yes, SHANE. I should’ve snapped a picture of her.
There are new releases there that a lot of people have been blogging about which I think is a good thing. There’s the Havering Dress, Slouchy Thread Sweater, Belmar Skinny Jeans, Rendezvous Printed and V Necks. The Belmar Skinny jeans do not have any prims, but sock attachments to complete the look. Usually I don’t like skinny jeans without sculpties, but these are so well made. You shouldn’t really hide them with boots even though I did in one picture. They also come in an optional dot print version.
So after a lazy weekend, Shane and I realized we wanted to get this stuff out and show you how awesome Surf Co. is, as if you already didn’t know. Everything comes on all layers which is good if you’d like to create a stunning outfit to piece. I rambled enough, let’s get to the pics.

New Items at Lelutka.
When Azufr3 Catteneo of LeLutka passed me the new items at Lelutka, my jaw dropped. I thought he only made clothes for males and therefore I was kind of shocked to see that he was passing me something. He’s coming out with an assortment of coats, which is probably one of my favorite accessory to have in SL. What I like most about the coats is that like all coats in Letluka, it comes with an AO that’s specifically used for wearing the coat. I really like that. Not only did he create new coats, but there are also pants and a corset. I didn’t want to make this entry too picture oriented so I decided to leave the corset and pants out, but it doesn’t mean I’m not going to use the items for another post. I matched a lot of old items with the new jackets.
I decided to get out of the four walls of my skybox and take my pictures on a sim. Shane and I have been doing a lot of exploring and there are some great sims out there that are perfect for picture taking! If only I can stop crashing and if only I can figure out why my shadows are all over the place when I click “basic shaders.” I suppose it all means I need a new graphics card, but this computer is just a year and a couple months old. Oh well. Hope you enjoy the scenery. Chances are I’ll be behind a white wall next time. Maybe. I did have fun doing this!
Joint Couple Post: Jenny and Shane.
From now until the end of the year, each week Shane and I are going to take a famous couple (whether it’s fictional or not) , go off of their style, and incorporate it into our own for a joint post. Five months ago (I can’t believe this has only been going on for five months), Shane and I were searching for names for our new blog we were working on. We tried EVERYTHING when all of a sudden the name Les Girls spoke to us. It made sense at the time. We’re a couple both IRL and in SL and like most of our bisexual and lesbian friends, we would watch and discuss a show called The L Word. At the time when the show was first on, it was innovative. It was special. I’ve never seen a show that portrayed lesbian and bisexuals in such a way before. We were lawyers, writers, athletes, in the corporate world, everywhere. For me personally, the L word gave me the ability to accept myself for who I am and not be ashamed to love anyone whether it’s a male or female. It made me realize I’m not the only one out there and it is OK to be myself and love myself. The L Word meant something to us and thus Les Girls was a perfect name to give back in a way to a show that gave to us. Jennifer Schecter and Shane McCutcheon are two of our favorites. Despite the terrible ending, Shenny was a great testimony of friendship. And so for our first couple try if you will, Shane and I are going to attempt to bring Shenny back in a positive light and ignore the whole Jenny dying thing.
White Winter Hymnal
I was following the pack, all swallowed in their coats, with scarves of red tied ’round their throats, to keep their little heads from fallin’ in the snow, and I turned ’round and there you go. And, Michael, you would fall, and turn the white snow red as strawberries in the summertime.
Somebody advertised an insomnia killer to me, on an old post of mine. Like I said back then, my insomnia is down to not sleeping, therefore ruling it out as an incapability – it’s just what I do. My Uncle has a better computer than me, with a far better graphics card. It’s crazy, I sign on and my heart skips a beat; everything is so crisp and clear. Shocking.
Woke up this morning. Early, after a night without the internet, so I’m glad I found something to buy on the feeds (which turned into a few things to buy on the feeds.) And HAIR THAT I FELL IN LOVE WITH AT THAT, all thanks to the post that somebody used some hair from Buried in. I love this store.
Took advantage of the computer borrowing and snapped some shots at various places, including Lostwood and Jordan Giant’s drift.wood skybox demo. (Beautiful.)
Sixty L Sundays.
I know about $50L Fridays, but this is my first time hearing of $60L Sundays. There’s also a low amount linden weekend, but I can’t think of it’s proper name. Personally I’m holding out for 10L skins. Eolande’s participating in the $60L Sunday and is giving away something that’s usually $650L. So for today only you’ll be able to get the Pink Graduated Pearls Set. That comes with a necklace and matching bracelet and earrings.

While Clear is off slaving at work, I’m at home doing nothing. I was originally going to write a witty account of my day. (Down to the two overweight men that walked past me when I was walking my dog, with 6 between them, that said “it’s a fuckin’ springer dog” – clearly.) I decided against it at some point, choosing to ease my headache by wearing a beanie inside the house. Look of the day……

Yesterday I found a cool sim walking around with Shane and I thought it’d be a good idea to take a few pictures on it. I installed a new viewer, SnowGlobe, and every time I tried to take a picture I’d crash. I suppose it’s back to Gemni for me, or at least until I can figure out why the Imprudence Viewer’s voice doesn’t work. You know me, I love listening to other people’s conversations in stores. At any rate, today I’m going to show off new items that can be found in Barcode’s store. It’s hard to believe that Makenzie Irling has just started making clothes about a little over two months ago. I’ve been trying forever to make clothes and I can barely know how to pull my pants up if they’re sticking through boots I’m wearing at the moment.

Inspecting things is one of my favourite things. (I should call this blog ‘My Favourite Things’, and bust into a Julie Andrews number each time I write.) Honestly, though, when I heard about anti-inspect shields, beyond the horror of seeing red force fields around vain SLers (of the same ilk as myself), I was against it. I get that you don’t want to be copybotted, but I won’t even try to pretend like I know how that goes about. When I see something on somebody that I like, I’m so anti-social that I don’t really know how to start up a conversation with them – nor do I want to seem rude in openly wanting what they have – and prefer to right-click, inspect. I’ll admit it. In any event, today I was standing around with a group of friends and their friends’ friends, saw a cap I liked and jumped on the creator of the hair’s profile pronto. “Picks!” I cried. “Please have it in your picks!” And they did. It was a store called The GL, and despite not wanting to buy anything today, I TPed my ass on over there and spent almost 700L in one go. The T-shirt reading There’s Nothing To Do In SL could have been ripped from my daily rantings, and I liked multiple hairs so much I was in shop-heaven. They have great ties, great accessories, nice hairs; all of which left Shane a happy camper.

It’s just a lazy Sunday for Shane and I. We’re not up to much of anything. We kind of begun the process of sorting things in our inventory out. She’s very OCD and needs things to be put in their right place. While sorting our inventory out, we found a couple pieces of clothing that we liked so much we thought we’d show it off. The tights I’m wearing are from October’s Gift from So Many Styles.
